OUR VISITS
Sunnyside Nursing Home
Our Therapy Paws UK team recently visited a care home for a relaxing art and socialisation session with the residents.
The activity provided an opportunity for residents to get creative while spending time with our therapy dog, encouraging conversation, interaction and plenty of smiles.
Art activities can support self-expression, concentration and confidence, while the presence of a therapy dog can help create a calm and welcoming environment. The session also encouraged residents to connect with others, share memories and enjoy meaningful social interaction.
Most importantly, it was a chance to have fun, be creative and enjoy the companionship of a friendly therapy dog — creating positive moments and meaningful connections.

1:1 Wellbeing Session
A lovely 1:1 session with one of our young clients with Leah and Reggie
For some children, particularly those who experience anxiety or find new environments and experiences overwhelming, building trust can take time. That’s why our sessions are always gentle, child-led and completely pressure-free, allowing each child to engage in whatever way feels comfortable for them.
It was wonderful to see confidence gradually grow throughout the session. With patience, reassurance and Reggie’s calm presence, small moments of connection began to develop — showing just how powerful a safe and supportive environment can be.
There is no rush, no expectation and no “right” way to interact. Sometimes simply being alongside a therapy dog is a huge achievement.
We are incredibly proud to have been part of this young person’s journey and to see those little steps towards greater confidence and comfort.
Every child is unique. Every journey is different. And every little step matters.

Sunnyside Nursing Home
A Lovely Day of Biscuit Decorating, Lead Walking & Cuddles with Reggie!
Our Therapy Paws UK team recently visited a care home for a wonderful wellbeing session filled with creativity, companionship and plenty of smiles with our lovely therapy dog, Reggie.
Residents enjoyed decorating biscuits, giving them the opportunity to get creative, use their fine motor skills, practise hand-eye coordination and express themselves through their own unique designs. The activity also encouraged concentration, choice-making and conversation, with residents sharing ideas and enjoying a fun, hands-on experience together.
Some residents also had the opportunity to take Reggie for a gentle lead walk, enjoying time outdoors, fresh air and movement at their own pace. Walking with Reggie encouraged physical activity, confidence and a lovely sense of purpose, while providing opportunities for conversation and connection.
And, of course, there were lots of cuddles with Reggie! Spending time stroking and cuddling a friendly therapy dog can help promote relaxation, reduce feelings of loneliness and encourage emotional connection. For some residents, interacting with Reggie may also bring back happy memories of beloved pets and provide comfort through the simple joy of companionship.
Most importantly, it was a wonderful opportunity for residents to enjoy meaningful activities, connect with one another and create special moments with Reggie.
At Therapy Paws UK, we believe that the little moments — a beautifully decorated biscuit, a gentle walk or a cuddle with a much-loved therapy dog — can make a big difference to someone's day.
