OUR THERAPY DOG AND ANIMAL ASSISTED HANDLER PARTNERS
Our Therapy Paws UK network is made up of dedicated, independent therapy dog and animal-assisted handlers who operate their own businesses alongside their carefully assessed dogs. Together, they provide compassionate, professional wellbeing experiences designed to support emotional health, connection and positive interactions.
Our handler partners hold appropriate therapy dog certification or assessment evidence, maintain their own relevant insurance and meet our safeguarding and suitability requirements. DBS checks are completed at the level legally available and appropriate for each role. We expect all partners to uphold our standards of professionalism, safety, dog welfare and respect.
We welcome applications from compassionate, suitably qualified handlers and their dogs who would like to join our partner network.
Therapy Paws UK promotes the services of its independent handler partners and works to identify potential paid opportunities with schools, care homes, hospitals, community groups, universities and workplace wellbeing settings.
We use email outreach, telephone calls, postal marketing, social media and our website to generate enquiries and develop relationships with organisations across the UK.
When a suitable opportunity becomes available, we share the proposed booking details and scope of work with relevant partners. We discuss the location, session requirements, proposed fee and other relevant arrangements before the handler decides whether to accept the booking.
Our partners:

Operate independently and manage their own business activities.

Choose their availability and the geographical areas they are willing to cover.

Are free to accept or decline individual booking opportunities.

Are not guaranteed a minimum number of bookings or a regular income.

May work with other clients, organisations and businesses.

Are responsible for their own business administration, tax and National Insurance obligations, where applicable.

Maintain their own professional standards, insurance and relevant qualifications.
Therapy Paws UK provides marketing, client introductions, booking coordination and administrative support in accordance with the Partner Agreement and individual booking arrangements.
We aim to build a supportive network of independent professionals, creating opportunities for our partners while helping organisations access the benefits of therapy dog and animal-assisted wellbeing services.

Reggie a qualified as a therapy dog in February 2026 alongside his owner, Leah, who also qualified as a Therapy Dog Practitioner. With a background in Veterinary Nursing and canine behaviour, Leah is able to offer engaging educational activities alongside therapy dog sessions.
Reggie is a calm, affectionate 10-year-old Labrador who loves swimming, countryside walks, and of course, plenty of tasty treats!

Bonnie is a very special dog and has shown a calm, intelligent nature from the moment we brought her home at 8 weeks old.
A pedigree black Labrador, she quickly settled into family life, excelling in puppy training and developing into a gentle, well-mannered companion.
At 3 years old, Bonnie completed the Paws Therapy Dog Certification Programme in just 5 months using reward-based training techniques. Since qualifying, she has confidently visited cafés, hospices, libraries, care homes and schools, offering comfort and reassurance to children and adults alike.
Alongside Bonnie, I bring 27 years of experience as a primary school teacher and now provide Animal Assisted Education sessions across Somerset, supporting children and young people through engaging, dog-themed learning and therapeutic activities.

Frankie and Ebony have been working together as a certified therapy dog team since 2023, supporting children in schools and people in the wider community through calm, consistent animal-assisted interactions.
Frankie brings a strong professional background to the work as a registered veterinary nurse and a qualified teaching assistant, combining clinical understanding with experience in educational settings. This helps ensure every visit is safe, structured, and purposeful, especially when working with children who benefit from additional emotional or behavioural support.

Cory is a friendly Golden Retriever who loves meeting people and making a positive difference. Alongside his handler, Jan, he brings the unique benefits of the human-dog connection to people of all ages.
Jan is a qualified primary school teacher, professional dog trainer and holds a Diploma in Animal Assisted Therapy. With extensive experience in the assistance dog sector, including training and assessing autism assistance dog partnerships, she combines her professional knowledge with a genuine passion for helping people through positive interactions with dogs.
Together, Cory and Jan create calm, engaging and meaningful experiences in a range of settings — from schools and community groups to care environments — increasing connections, confidence and the wellbeing benefits of spending time with a dog.

Henry and Maximus are 18 month old black Labradors. They came to join the family when they were 8 weeks old and have been bringing joy, love and comfort to us ever since. They started training as therapy dogs at 6 months and qualified at just 12 months old- as soon as they could take their assessment. They have the most gentle nature and absolutely love people - young and old alike. They love their job as therapy dogs working in a range of schools, care homes and alternative provisions.
Anna has 20 years experience as a teacher and senior leader in primary schools before qualifying as a PAWS practitioner and delivering animal assisted therapy full time.
